Location of event
Switzerland will host the 20th World Conference of the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) in 2010. Our excellent national and international networks and support from the canton of Geneva will enable us to organise this most important triennial event of the world's leading organisations in the field of Health Promotion.
We expect over two thousand specialists and interested parties to attend and establish networks at the 2010 IUHPE World Conference in Geneva. Representatives from the health, public and private sectors from all over the world will meet to discuss new developments in "Sustainability and Health Promotion".
Health Promotion Switzerland will be Co-chair of the Organising Committee and with its partners will sit on the Global Executive and Global Scientific Committees. To organise this conference jointly with the canton of Geneva, we will coordinate our activities with several Federal Offices. We will ensure that Geneva, the World Health Organisation's host city, will experience an unforgettable, sustainable event.
The conference theme will be derived from the thematic umbrella «sustainable development and health promotion». Health Promotion Switzerland and its partners are looking forward to host this important global public health event. The aim is to reach beyond the public health and health promotion sector and to provide a great opportunity to facilitate and advance the work for health promotion and disease prevention in the context of sustainable development.
