Location of event

Executive and Legislative Elections took place in Sudan from April 11th to 15th. The elections were one of the fundamental conditions as set out in the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) to be implemented before the referendum on the future status of South Sudan in January 2011. Carried out under the observation of numerous international organizations – among them the EU, AU, IGAD as well as several NGOs – the elections were considered the crucial test case for the democratic transformation process of the country.
