The Church leaders represented a diversity of denominations and countries, but met to agree on a common message to send the political leaders of Europe.

The Conference of European Churches held a conference in Brussels on the 12th and 13 of December. The theme of the conference was "Values-Religion-Identity", and the leaders aim was to agree on an open letter to European political leaders. The open letter shares the concerns and hopes of European churches for the future of Europe and their role within it.
